About
Nathan Giles is a photographer located in Melbourne, Victoria.
His work is inspired by a fascination to document quiet moments, rural landscapes' engagement with the environment, and the passage of time. His work also reflects a reverence for history and the natural world.
He finds inspiration and solace in the simplicity and authenticity of film photography, selecting 35mm and medium format as his media of choice.
Currently, he is working on two photography projects - one documenting life and landscapes in the Yarra Ranges and Alpine Shire, the other focusing on historical military structures and their connection to environments in Point Nepean National Park.
With a focus on pursuing long-term photography projects, he endeavours to share and publish his work through photography books and zines.
I acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first peoples and Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and waterways on which I live.
I honour and pay my respect to Elders past and present.
